Yoel Romero’s manager has come out and said that his client would grant Israel Adesanya a rematch in Australia or New Zealand if he wins at UFC 248.
This weekend’s UFC 248 event takes place in Las Vegas, where challenger Yoel Romero will try to take the 185lbs title from UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Romero has lost his last 2, but is still considered to be among the most top Middleweights on the UFC roster. Prior to this fight being made, Adesanya told UFC president Dana White that he wanted the toughest matchup possible. He was originally supposed to go against Paulo Costa, but when the Brazilian got injured, Yoel Romero jumped on the opportunity for another crack at the UFC Middleweight title.
Pundits see Adesanya as a solid betting favorite to beat Romero this weekend. If Romero is able to win against Adesanya this weekend in an upset, his manager Abe Kawa has come out and said that his client would return the favor and grant Adesanya a rematch in Australia or New Zealand.
See what Kawa wrote about Romero and Adesanya on Twitter here:
“Probably rematch Izzy first in Australia or New Zealand. He gave yoel his chance so I think we would gladly return the favor then whomever. It won’t matter after that #andnew”
There are 2 titles on the line at UFC 248 this Saturday. In the main event Israel Adesanya will take on Romero for the UFC Middleweight title, while the co-main event will see UFC Women’s Strawweight champion Weili Zhang go against her rival Joanna Jedrzejczyk. It certainly seems like it will be a great night of fights.
If Adesanya is able to successfully defend his title, he will most likely be taking on Paulo Costa next. Meanwhile, if Romero captures the title, the UFC will potentially be looking to run back Adesanya and Romero later this year. Romero’s side have already stated their interest in a rematch, if he wins.
