Weili Zhang overtakes Valentina Shevchenko in the P4P rankings

The official UFC rankings have been updated since last weekend’s UFC 248 event, which featured the UFC women’s strawweight champion Weili Zhang.

Maybe the most notable change in the rankings comes from Weili Zhang overtaking UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko on the women’s pound-for-pound. Zhang made her 1st title defence against the former UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk, winning by a close split-decision.

The fight was a tremendous show of heart, skill and determination by both women, with many regarding it as the greatest women’s MMA fight in history. UFC president Dana White later called it “one of the best fights he has ever seen, period.”
