Former interim UFC welterweight champion Colby Covington recently called out Tyron Woodley after his scheduled fight at UFC London was cancelled.
Woodley was initially scheduled to face England’s Leon Edwards in the main event at UFC London this weekend. Unfortunately, the event fell through after certain travel restrictions were put in place between the United Kingdom and the United States due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
Despite the announcement, Woodley has stated that he still expects to fight on Saturday. He has been called out by Colby Covington, who Woodley says would be his “number one choice” for a replacement fight.
“Word on the street is @LeonScott is out. The @ufc and America need a hero. Who wants see America’s Champ put the #MAGA cape on and beat the fuck out of @twooodley live on @ESPN next week for your entertainment and my own personal pleasure?”
“America’s Champ has let the @ufc know he’s available to #KAG and slap the shit out of @twooodley live on @espn for the people! Someone let Tyrone know. That dip shit has me blocked on all platforms because my words “hurt his precious little feelings.”
Woodley hit back at Covington, implying that he doesn’t actually want to fight and is just trying to get attention on social media. Covington has now hit back at the former UFC welterweight champion in classic-Colby style with a message he posted on his Instagram:
“Tyrone,” Covington began. “America wants March Madness, Tyrone. The people want this fight. I want this fight. Your last out was so bad, you need this fight. Let’s save America, b**tch.”
UFC are looking at possible match ups for Woodley, but nothing has been officially announced at this time.
