UFC middleweight challenger Paulo Costa recently had a sparring session with the famous Youtuber Logan Paul at the UFC Performance Institute.
The pair did some boxing and wrestling sparring at the UFC PI earlier this week. Footage shared earlier this week by Logan Paul on his Youtube account showed him getting beat up by the Brazilian powerhouse.
Costa talked about the experience on a recent episode of “The Schmozone” podcast. He praised Paul’s toughness and determination, admitting that the Youtuber was actually able to land some good punches of his own. Costa also talked about the Israel Adesanya vs. Yoel Romero fight at UFC 248, taking a dig at the champion. See what he had to say below:
“I did boxing sparring last morning with Logan Paul. Logan Paul is a tough guy. He make my lip a little hurt. I’m a tough guy but he [is] also. We did a boxing spar without mouthpieces, mouth guards. We are tough guys. We’re not afraid to take some hits like Adesanya [is]. He’s scared. He avoided the fight [with Romero]. Me, no. Logan Paul not avoid fight.”
Paulo Costa was asked if he believes Logan Paul could do well in the UFC:
“I think he can if he wants,” Costa said. “If he starts training and he’s serious about doing this, he can, because he’s talented.”
Logan Paul has previous high school wrestling experience and has recently ventured into the world of professional boxing. His pro record is currently 0-1, having lost to the British Youtuber Olajide Olatunji, also known as KSI, in his professional boxing debut.
Meanwhile, Paulo Costa remains undefeated in his professional MMA career with a record of 13-0. He is expected to face UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in his next bout. The date for this contest has not been set yet, but there are some rumours about it potentially taking place at UFC 252 in July, 2020.
