UFC Middleweight contender Paulo Costa went after UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya for his controversial 9/11 reference at the UFC 248 press conference.
At UFC 248 press conference in Las Vegas, Israel Adesanya caused controversy when he said that he would make his next opponent Yoel Romero “crumble like the twin towers”.
The eyebrow raising comment did not go well with a lot of the fans and analysts, including top-ranked UFC Middleweight contender Paulo Costa.
‘The Eraser’ responded on Twitter, where he went after the UFC Middleweight champion for his controversial remarks.
“Israel Adesanya. You are a disgusting piece of shit. How dare you make a joke disrespecting the thousands who died and the heroic firefighters and police. I will really kill you, dirty kiwi.”
This is just the latest bit of trash talk in the ongoing feud between the two fighters. Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa have been going back and forth for months now. The two men were expected to collide after Costa’s win over Romero at UFC 241. However, due to an injury suffered by the Brazilian fighter, Israel Adesanya will now square off against Yoel Romero instead, headlining next month’s UFC 248 event in Las Vegas.
Paulo Costa is undefeated with record of 13-0, with 5 wins under the UFC banner. The Brazilian powerhouse sports 11 of his 13 career wins by way of knockout.
