UFC 248 official weigh in results are in. The event takes place on Saturday night in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is set for his 1st UFC title defense against challenger Yoel Romero — widely regarded as one of the most dangerous fighter in on the roster. Adesanya was initially scheduled to fight Paulo Costa, but the Brazilian was forced to withdraw due to sustaining a bicep injury. Costa was upset about having to withdraw and even tried to use a fake doctor to get medically cleared by the UFC. When that didn’t work, Adesanya accepted a fight against Romero instead.
UFC Women’s Strawweight champion Weili Zhang is also set to make her 1st UFC title defense against the former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk in the co-main event. Zhang is the first Chinese UFC champion and Dana White recently discussed her potential to become a superstar. Jedrzejczyk will enter the contest as the longest-reigning champion in the UFC Women’s Strawweight division’s history.
Other noteworthy fights on this stacked fight card will include the likes of Li Jingliang, Neil Magny, Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira, Max Griffin, Sean O’Malley, Mark Madsen and many more.
