Undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov was recently asked who the greatest combat athlete of all time is.
He didn’t say Jon Jones, Fedor Emelianenko or Demetrious Johnson, but instead went with UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo.
They both recently attended a media event hosted by their management company Dominance MMA. Surrounded by other MMA fights including the likes of Kayla Harrison, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson and Justin Gaethje, Cejudo and Nurmagomedov were being documented by “Anatomy of a Fighter” mini-series.
Towards the end of the episode, the two could be seen talking about who the greatest combat sports athlete of all time is. Nurmagomedov’s answer was simple:
“Yes, Olympic champ, UFC, I agree. Right Now?” Nurmagomedov responded to Cejudo saying that he is the greatest.
“Everybody takes it as a joke. But facts are facts. Bend the knee.” Cejudo said in response.
Henry Cejudo earned his nickname “Triple C” from winning a gold medal as a wrestler at the Olympics and then making the transition to MMA and becoming a 2-division UFC champion.
For his next fight, Cejudo is scheduled to face Jose Aldo at UFC 250 in Brazil. The former Olympian will be making his 1st-title defence at bantamweight since winning the belt from TJ Dillashaw at UFC Fight Night 143 in January of last year.
