Josie Harris, who is the mother of 3 children with the undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, has passed away at age 40.
A recent report TMZ Sports has confirmed the death of Josie Harris, who was found dead at her home in Valencia, California on Tuesday night. She was found unresponsive in her vehicle and the police pronounced Harris dead at the scene. The police have confirmed that they are not investigating this as a suspicious death. TMZ report that there was no foul play involved in her death.
Her former partner, undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr is yet to release a statement on this matter.
Floyd Mayweather Jr has 3 children with Josie Harris. He was convicted of domestic assault against Harris in 2010 and served a 2 month prison sentence. Harris had claimed that Mayweather physically assaulted her on as many as 6 occasions, with the most notable attack being the highly-publicized incident in September 2010. Floyd Mayweather Jr allegedly assaulted his former partner in front of the children, who alerted security to call the police.
Following the case, he was sued by Harris for defamation after Mayweather said in a televised interview with Katie Couric that he “restrained” Harris for being on drugs and damaging his property. Harris sued Mayweather for $20 million (£15.7m).
According to TMZ, the pair were together from 1995 to 2010. Josie Harris was an aspiring actress and a writer. Prior to her passing, she was in the process of writing a book on domestic violence.
