On a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Rogan weighed in on Logan Paul’s wrestling ability, calling it “no joke”.
Logan Paul is best known for being a famous Youtuber, but the 24-year old has recently been making headlines in the world of combat sports. He made his professional boxing debut against fellow Youtuber Olajide Olatunji, also known as KSI, last year.
Paul was also recently training at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas. He was “knocked out” in sparring by UFC middleweight contender Paulo Costa. Following the release of that footage, many fans were speculating that Paul is looking to try his hand at mixed martial arts.
He has previously stated interest in fighting CM Punk and more recently, a potential bout against Bellator welterweight Dillon Danis (2-0) has been touted.
In fact, it was Dillon Danis who posted a clip from a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, where Rogan is talking about the wrestling credentials of Paul:
“Logan Paul can wrestle,” Rogan said to Brendan Schaub. “He can wrestle. Look at those scrambles.
“You can see it when he’s moving, like did you see that scramble? This is no joke.”
Schaub said to Rogan that Paul had a fairly accomplished wrestling career in his high school years. MMA Fighting reporter Damon Martin also agreed with that assessment:
“Put aside all the ridiculous social media stuff, Logan Paul finished fifth at states in wrestling in Ohio his senior year. Ohio is a powerhouse state for wrestling. Doesn’t mean he’d be a great MMA fighter but he actually does have a legit wrestling pedigree.”
Following their sparring session, Paulo Costa stated that Logan Paul has real potential to fight in MMA at a high level.
