UFC President Dana White defended the decision to book Jose Aldo vs. Henry Cejudo for the UFC Bantamweight title at UFC 250.
It was announced earlier this week that the former Featherweight champion Jose Aldo will take on ‘Triple C’ for his Bantamweight belt at May’s UFC 250 event in Sao Paulo.
The news weren’t welcome by all fans and other fighters, as Jose Aldo is currently on a 2-fight losing streak. He lost a split-decision to Marlon Moraes in his last fight, which was his Bantamweight debut. Bantamweight contender Aljamain Sterling said that the UFC is milking Aldo for every last dollar.
The 135-pound division has a solid list of contenders at the moment, including Aljamain Sterling, Petr Yan, Cody Sandhagen and other. Despite this, Dana White is confident that bpplomg Aldo vs. Cejudo was the right decision.
“I think (Jose Aldo) won. I think the judges got it wrong and I think he won the fight (with Moraes).” White said in an interview with TMZ Sports. “When you’ve done what Cejudo has done, and he agrees. He text me right after the fight and said ‘Aldo won that fight’. And he wants to fight Aldo. He wants to fight the legend.”
Dana White also had a message for any fight fans who criticize the UFC 250 title fight.
“Then don’t watch it! People are full of sh*t. People are full of sh*t. It’s going to be an incredible fight. Aldo absolutely deserves this and Cejudo wants it. The champ-champ, the guy who won belts in two divisions wants to fight Aldo, so what does that mean? Cejudo isn’t a guy running around looking for easy fights.”
