UFC featherweight contender Chan Sung Jung, also known as “The Korean Zombie” has accepted Brian Ortega’s apology and agreed to fight him in the Octagon.
Brian Ortega recently made headlines after he allegedly approached Jay Park in the crowd at UFC 248, slapping him in the face. Jay Park is friends with “KZ” and helps out at his translator. Footage surfaced of the moment Ortega allegedly slapped Jung’s friend, while he had been in the bathroom. The two have bickered at each other on social media since the incident, with Ortega recently issuing an official apology to Park.
Since Ortega’s apology, “The Korean Zombie” has taken to his social media, seemingly accepting it and declaring his intention to fight “T-City” in the Octagon. See what he had to say below:
“Everybody makes mistakes, including me. However, you were able to own up to your mistakes and apologize. There were times where I was given the opportunity to make up for my mistake and I didn’t.
I appreciate your apology. It shows that what happened last Saturday was not just “a show“ to promote our fight.
This helps me a lot because some people thought I was promoting the fight and laughed at me, which stressed me out. So I really needed your apology. Your apology helped me out a lot.
I too, apologize for trash talking. I thought my fans were enjoying it but what happened taught me to be more careful. Also, I realized this was not the person that I really am. We have only one more thing left between us and that is the fight. I will fight you and I will beat you, I really will.
Please wait until my eyes get better. I promise it won’t take long. I’ll see you in the octagon. @briantcity”.
Brian Ortega was previously scheduled to fight Chan Sung Jung at UFC Busan in December of last year. Ortega withdrew from the bout after suffering an injury, leaving “KZ” to accept a replacement fight against Frankie Edgar. Jung won the bout via KO in the very 1st-round.
