Both, Felicia Spencer and Megan Anderson impressed the UFC Women’s Featherweight champion Amanda Nunes with their performances at UFC Norfolk.
There were 2 fights in the UFC Women’s Featherweight division at UFC Norfolk. The first one seen Megan Anderson finish Octagon debutant Norma Dumont in brutal fashion with a 1st-round knockout. The second fight had Felicia Spencer stop Zarah Fairn, also in the 1st round with some ground-and-pound. Both, Anderson and Spencer made a statement with their performances, and Nunes was watching the two women closely.
Amanda Nunes said earlier this week that she is expecting to defend her UFC Women’s Featherweight at UFC 250. The title shot will go to either Spencer or Anderson and according to Nunes, she is happy to compete against either woman. See what Amanda Nunes wrote on her Twitter below:
“One fight down, Nice KO… let’s see the other now.”
“I like both winners tonight. Now it’s up to the @danawhite I’m ready for either.”
At this point, it is unknown, which of the women will be Nunes’ next challenge, and with their equally impressive performances at UFC Norfolk it’s literally a coin flip between the two.
The decision might be influenced by the fact that Spencer has previously beaten Anderson by stoppage. MMA math is not something to necessarily go by, but the UFC might Spencer giving being a bigger challenge for Nunes.
Another thing to consider is that Dana White was extremely complimentary towards Spencer, ever since she lost to Cris Cyborg in her last fight at UFC 240. Though the outcome of that contest was a UD loss for Spencer, the UFC president praised her toughness that night and generally appeared to be a big fan of her.
