UFC Light Heavyweight contender Aleksandar Rakic recently announced on his social media that he has a new 6-fight UFC contract.
Rakic took to his Instagram to announce the new 6-fight deal with the world’s leading MMA organisation. Here’s what the 28-year-old UFC Light Heavyweight wrote:
“Pleased to announce that I signed a new long term contract with 6 fights in the @ufc . This is the 3rd contract with the company in 2 years. Rocket Time. #ufc #contract #future #rocket #rockettime #mma #nike #swoosh #teamrakic”
Aleksandar Rakic is currently ranked #10 in the UFC Light Heavyweight rankings. He made his UFC debut back in 2017, beating Francimar Barroso via decision. Rakic followed up his first victory inside the octagon with another decision victory over Justin Ledet.
Since then he has showed his knockout power with back-to-back wins over Devin Clark and Jimi Manuwa in his following two fights, the latter which led to Manuwa retiring from the sport of MMA. At UFC Busan, Rakic fought top contender Volkan Oezdemir. After a close 15-minute fight between the two LHW fighters, it was Oezdemir who emerged as the winner via controversial split decision.
Still, in a very competitive fight Rakic didn’t drop far in the rankings after that loss. In fact, the UFC thought highly enough of his performance to offer him for a new 6-fight UFC deal.
Rakic currently does not have an opponent scheduled for his next fight, but looking at the rankings, he seems likely to get a top-15 LHW as his next dance partner.
